Sustainable Energy Jobs Platform

At the IRENA’s 10th General Assembly in Abu Dhabi and the World Future Energy Summit (WFES), our chief communications officer, William Brent participated in the launch of the Sustainable Energy Jobs Platform. The cross-section of international public and private sector organizations involved in the new Platform seek to present and promote an integrated approach to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 7 - ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all  and 8 - decent work and economic growth.

Power for All is a platform member together with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI),  (Global Off-Grid Lighting Association (GOGLA), Global Women’s Network For The Energy Transition (GWNET), International Labour Organization (ILO), Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS), and SELCO Foundation.

Solar Veteran Adam Browning Joins Power for All Board of Directors

Adam Browning has joined Power for All’s Board of Directors. Browning is the co-founder and Executive Director of Vote Solar, a non-profit advocacy organization with the mission of bringing solar energy into the mainstream. Prior to Vote Solar, Browning spent eight years with the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency’s San Francisco office, where he won the Agency’s top pollution prevention award for developing a program that reduced air emissions of mercury.

Browning joins board members Dr. Kandeh Yumkella, former United Nations Under-Secretary-General, Chair of UN-Energy (2008-2015) and founding CEO and Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sustainable Energy for All, Danny Kennedy, Managing Director at California Clean Energy Fund and Chief Energy Officer at New Energy Nexus; Sheila Oparaocha, Executive Secretary of ENERGIA and Power for All CEO Kristina Skierka.

India Energy for All Summit 2020

Power for All will be conducting a masterclass on marketing and communications strategies for DRE enterprises at the upcoming India Energy for All Summit (IEAS) organized by the Clean Energy Access Network (CLEAN) on 4 - 5 February 2020 in New Delhi. IEAS, now in its fourth edition, aims to fasttrack India’s clean energy transition by scaling-up the use of DRE and supporting the bid to achieve India’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

DRE Data Network Workshop

Power for All, GOGLA, CLASP and AMDA will host the second Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) Data Network Workshop: ‘Powerful Research; Powerful Advocacy’ on Thursday, February 20th at 13:30-15:00 pm (EAT) in Nairobi, back to back with the Global Off-Grid Solar Forum & Expo. The DRE  Data Network is a network of researchers, data practitioners and enthusiasts, focused on the role, impact and acceleration of distributed renewables in low-energy access countries.

Organized by GOGLA and The World Bank Group’s Lighting Global Program, the Forum and Expo is the premier meeting of the off-grid solar sector providing a unique platform for knowledge exchange, networking and showcasing off-grid solar products and services. The event aims to accelerate the development of the global off-grid solar market contributing to achieving universal energy access by 2030. Find out more at www.offgridsolarforum.org.
