Powering Jobs Census 2022: Focus on Uganda

Download the Powering Jobs Census 2022: The Energy Access Workforce Uganda report to learn the challenges still facing the decentralized renewable energy (DRE) sector and its job growth in the country due to COVID-19 and the measures put in place by the government. The pandemic led to a drastic reduction in the sale of DRE technologies by nearly 20 percent leading to the loss of over 5,000  jobs since the last census (2019). The report provides a comprehensive overview of employment in the DRE sector, including skill levels, training opportunities, compensation, participation of women and youth, and job retention. It is based on a survey of more than 350 companies and numerous focus groups across five countries: Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Nigeria, and Uganda.
