India, Energy Access

Fact Sheet: Making Energy Access Affordable

One of the main barriers to energy access is affordability. In India, the grid is bolstered by $2.8 billion in government subsidies each year, while in Tanzania, the cost for a family to connect and gain service to centralized power can be over $1000. Decentralized renewable technologies are bringing clean energy to millions of people at a fraction of the cost.
