William leads all external communications in promoting the campaign. One of “The Top 100 People Shaping Cleantech on Twitter”, he is a recognized leader at the intersection of distributed renewable energy and integrated marketing and communications. William started and built the cleantech practice at Weber Shandwick (PRWeek‘s 2015 Global Agency of the Year and part of NYSE: IPG), where he advised multinationals, innovative start- ups and coalitions on brand, content strategy, advocacy, digital and social media and reputation management. His award-winning work included clients such as Bloom Energy, Recurrent Energy, Envirofit, Solar Impulse, OneRoof Energy, Suntech Power, Proterra, NanoH20, Solazyme and the Coalition for Affordable Solar Energy. Previously, he was executive director of a non-profit acquired by Mercy Corps., and an entrepreneur who co-founded several companies, including a film production studio and a digital marketing agency. He was also a foreign correspondent and editor for many years, and still contributes regularly to leading media outlets.
